When You’ve Tried a Few Things and Still Don’t Feel Like Yourself
Many of the people I work with come to me after trying a few things already. Talk therapy that helped them understand but didn’t quite shift things. Medication that took the edge off without getting them all the way there. Every test coming back normal while they still feel anxious, exhausted, or on edge.
Anxiety and depression don’t always look the way people expect. Outwardly you may seem completely put together, while inwardly your mind won’t slow down, your sleep is off, or the motivation you used to have just isn’t there.
If that sounds familiar, it doesn’t mean something is wrong with you, and it doesn’t mean you’re beyond help. More often, it simply means you haven’t found the right combination for you yet. That’s where we start.
HOW I CAN HELP
An Approach Matched to You
We work with the right mix of three approaches, matched to what you actually need.
Neurofeedback (where we often begin)
So much of anxiety and depression lives in a nervous system stuck in overdrive or shut-down. Neurofeedback helps your brain learn to regulate itself, easing the racing thoughts and exhaustion in a way talking alone often can’t.
Relational Talk Therapy
Together we make sense of the patterns and the story underneath the symptoms, so the change goes deeper than simply managing it.
EMDR
When current anxiety or low mood is rooted in something from the past, EMDR helps your brain process what’s been stuck, so it stops driving how you feel today.
For many people, the real shift comes from combining these rather than choosing one. We’ll find the right blend together.
MORE ABOUT NEUROFEEDBACK
Why Anxiety Is Often a Regulation Issue, Not a Willpower One
Anxiety and depression often aren’t about trying harder or thinking more positively. They frequently come down to a nervous system that’s lost its ability to regulate, getting stuck on high alert or running on empty.
That’s what neurofeedback works on. It’s a non-invasive approach, with no medication and nothing painful, that helps your brain notice its own patterns and gradually learn steadier ones. Many people describe it as relaxing while their brain does the work.
As your brain learns to regulate, the day-to-day tends to shift: calmer thoughts, clearer focus, steadier sleep, a baseline that finally feels livable. Because the changes are trackable, you’re not left guessing whether it’s working.
The system I use is symptom- and standards-based. We focus on how anxiety and depression actually show up in your real life and the changes you feel, guided by established protocols, rather than on brain-map readings or chasing numbers on a chart.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
Yes. Neurofeedback helps the brain regulate itself more effectively, which can ease the racing thoughts, restlessness, and low energy of anxiety and depression. It’s often especially helpful for people who haven’t found full relief from talk therapy or medication alone.
-
No, I do not do brain mapping. We complete a full evaluation to determine which protocol is appropriate for you. It is not a one size fits all approach. The system I use is symptom- and standards-based. It’s guided by established protocols and focused on how your anxiety or depression actually shows up in daily life and the real-world changes you feel.

Medication can take the edge off, but it doesn’t always address what’s happening in your nervous system or the patterns underneath. Combining a thorough assessment with neurofeedback and talk therapy can reach what medication alone often misses. These approaches can also work alongside medication, and you should always coordinate any medication changes with your prescriber.
-
Absolutely. I work with many men managing depression and anxiety, including those who were hesitant about therapy at first. My approach is direct, practical, and judgment-free, and neurofeedback in particular appeals to people who’d rather not spend every session talking.
-
It varies by person and approach. Clients who are open to neurofeedback often notice meaningful change within about five to eight sessions on a biweekly basis. With EMDR it varies, though some notice a difference within several sessions once the process is underway. We’ll set realistic expectations together from the start.
