MY APPROACH
Connection Comes First
I’m a firm believer in the importance of the therapist-client relationship. I truly think the thing that leads to success in therapy is the connection. The tools matter, and we’ll get to those, but none of them work without trust first.
My work is very relational. I draw from different therapy modalities depending on what a person actually needs, rather than running everyone through the same playbook. Some people need to talk and be heard. Some need to work with what’s stored in the body. Many need a blend. We figure that out together.
Anxiety is something we all experience. A good deal of my approach is about learning to lean into all of your emotions and live well alongside the discomfort, rather than fighting to make it disappear. That shift, from battling how you feel to working with it, is often where real change begins.
If you’re ready to invest in yourself, I would be grateful to be part of your journey.
HOW I WORK
Three Tools, Matched to You
I’m not a one-size-fits-all therapist. Depending on what you’re working through and what feels right to you, I draw on three main approaches, often in combination.
Relational Talk Therapy
This is the foundation of everything I do. Relational talk therapy is built on a genuine, trusting connection, a space where you can be honest, feel understood, and not have to perform or hold it together.
Together we make sense of your patterns, your history, and what’s weighing on you now. I’m engaged, collaborative, and direct when it helps. We also work on leaning into your emotions and learning to live well with discomfort, which is so much of what makes life feel manageable again. I’m also passionate about mindfulness and breathwork, and I often weave these in to help you find steadiness you can carry between sessions.
EMDR
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
I have specific training in EMDR, and it’s one of my favorite tools to use, because of how effectively it helps people get unstuck.
When something painful or traumatic happens, the brain can get stuck mid-process, leaving the memory raw and easily triggered long after the event. EMDR helps your brain finish processing it. Using gentle, guided eye movements or other bilateral stimulation, a difficult memory can be revisited safely and finally filed away properly, so it loses its grip on the present. You don’t have to talk through every detail, and many people feel meaningful relief within a focused stretch of sessions.
Neurofeedback
Brain training
For people interested in training the brain directly, I offer neurofeedback. A lot of anxiety, trauma, and difficulty focusing comes down to a nervous system that’s gotten stuck, on high alert, running on empty, or struggling to settle. Neurofeedback gently helps your brain learn to regulate itself again.
Think of it as a workout for your brain. It’s non-invasive, with no medication and nothing painful. For many people it simply feels like relaxing while their brain does the learning. Over time, it can mean calmer moods, clearer focus, and steadier sleep, and because the changes are trackable, you’re not left guessing whether it’s working.
My neurofeedback is symptom- and standards-based. That means we focus on how things actually show up in your real life and the changes you genuinely feel, guided by established protocols, rather than on brain-map readings or chasing numbers on a chart. It’s a wonderful option on its own or alongside talk therapy.
Who I work With
The People I’m Lucky to Work With
I have experience working with adolescents and adults on how to cope with the ups and downs of life. The people I work with are wonderfully varied, and they include:
Teens 14 and up and young adults finding their footing.
Adults navigating anxiety and depression, including those who’ve tried other approaches and are ready for something that fits better.
People healing from trauma and PTSD who are ready to feel free of it.
Athletes and high achievers who want to quiet the noise and show up as themselves.
What ties them together isn’t a diagnosis. It’s a readiness to invest in themselves and a willingness to take that first step.
Making the First Call Is the Hard Part
I know how hard it can be to put yourself out there, and I genuinely applaud you for seeking someone out.
You don’t need to have it all figured out before we talk. You just need to be curious about feeling better. I welcome the opportunity to talk further and see if we’d be the right fit for your journey.
